AmeriCorps Members | After-School Student Support 2025-2026

Dallas, TX

About Us

Readers 2 Leaders is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to helping all children in Dallas read at or above grade level. Our mission is to equip students for success through the power of reading.

We recognize that students who don't read on grade level by third grade are four times less likely to graduate high school, and we work to help all our students beat the odds. We operate Booktown Learning Center, home of our flagship After-School Program and community lending library. We also provide in-school and after-school reading tutoring within Dallas ISD and charter school networks.

Readers 2 Leaders values the mental health of its employees and has taken steps to implement self-care activities, lightened workloads, and once-weekly work-from-home opportunities.

AmeriCorps Members | After-School Student Support

Readers 2 Leaders is seeking AmeriCorps Members for our After-School Student Support Team, to help mentor & teach elementary students in West Dallas this coming school year. Our after-school program is specially designed to support students who need extra help and practice in reading. The program serves Kindergarten - 5th grade students.

AmeriCorps Members are vital to the organization, making connections with and serving as role models for our students. This is a great opportunity for current and recently graduated college students, and those looking for more career experience in education or with students.
